It introduces the distinct yet complementary roles of coach and mentor, equipping learners with the knowledge and insight to operate effectively and ethically in either capacity. Learners will examine the key purposes and functions of coaching and mentoring, understand the core communication skills required in each role, and explore how confidentiality, feedback, and support mechanisms influence relationship success. They will also critically assess how coaching and mentoring can drive performance improvement at the individual, team, and organisational levels. Whether learners are new to coaching and mentoring or looking to formalise and expand their existing experience, this unit fosters self-awareness and professional development to ensure best practices are consistently applied.
